Bendito
Bendito-501
Bendito-501 Tile Adhesive is a highly advanced, new-generation, superior polymer-modified white cement-based tile/stone adhesive with improved strength.
Areas of Application: Designed especially for interior and exterior floor and wall installations of all types of ceramic tile, vitreous tile, semi-vitreous tile, glass mosaic tiles, precast terrazzo, and natural stones over concrete and a variety of substrates.
Features & Benefits:
- Provides a crack-free, breakage-free, and firm surface that preserves the beauty of tiling for a longer time
- Water-resistant characteristics
- Ready to use, needs no curing
- Excellent adhesion with low shrinkage
- Sufficiently flexible to accommodate thermal and physical movements
- Offers quick tiling benefits for contractors and consumers, saving time
Method of Application:
Surface Preparation:
Floor:
- The surface should be sound, clean, and free from dirt, oil, or grease before applying the adhesive.
- Incorporate expansion joints coinciding with joints in the substrate at the design stage, with spacing at a maximum of 5 mm. These joints should not be covered with tiles.
- Fill movement joints up to 5 mm width and wider joints with Bendito Epoxy Kit.
- Ensure the surface is plumb before applying adhesives.
- The surface must be in SSD (Saturated Surface Dry) condition before applying adhesive.
Wall:
- Ensure the surface to be tiled is sound and thoroughly cleaned, free from wax, grease, polish, etc.
Mixing:
- Add 3-3.5 parts of powder to 1 part of water.
- Mix with a trowel or slow-speed drill (50-100 rpm) until a lump-free homogeneous paste is obtained.
- Always mix the required quantity, which can be consumed within 30 minutes of pot life.
Fixing:
- Spread the adhesive to a thickness of approximately 3-6 mm and comb with a notched trowel. Apply the adhesive paste, which can be tiled within 5 to 15 minutes.
- Intermittently touch the adhesive paste on the substrate with your finger. If the adhesive sticks to your fingers, continue fixing; if not, scrape off the adhesive and apply newly mixed adhesive.
- Start placing the tile/stone on the surface to be fixed. Tap the tile/stone properly to ensure complete coverage of the backside and to eliminate any air voids.
- Keep joints between tiles/stones using spacers.
- Start filling joints only after 24 hours with Bendito Epoxy Kit.
Precautions & Limitations:
- The floor surface should be sufficiently hard and in good condition for laying tiles.
- Always add powder to water, never add water to powder.
- Do not add excess water beyond the recommended amount.
- Never add sand and cement at the site.
- Not suitable for tiling on gypsum plaster, paint, plywood, wood derivatives, metal, decorative laminates, or highly deformable surfaces subject to vibrations.
- Adhesives for ceramic tile, bricks, and stone are not designed as replacements for waterproof coatings.
- Leave no voids behind tiles.
- Protect from direct rainfall and foot traffic for at least 24 hours.
- For heavy tile applications or external floor areas, use with Bendito Stone Faijar.
- Do not use for fixing artificial, nano, engineered stone, composites, or metal tile.
